2-(Benzyloxy)-4-methoxybenzenecarbaldehyde (BMB) is an anticancer agent that has been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells. This compound reduces the mitochondrial membrane potential, which leads to the release of cytochrome c and loss of mitochondrial membrane potential. BMB also inhibits protein synthesis and has a strong inhibitory effect on cell proliferation. In addition, it has been shown to be effective against pancreatic cancer cells.
