Descripción:cis-4-Decen-1-ol is a short-chain fatty acid with an alcohol backbone. It is found in various natural sources such as plant waxes, animal fats and oils, and human sebum. cis-4-Decen-1-ol has been shown to be active substance that can be used to induce maturation of human spermatozoa in vitro. The stereoisomers of this compound differ in their ability to induce maturation. It has been shown that the cis stereoisomer induces a greater degree of maturation than the trans stereoisomer. cis-4-Decen-1-ol has also been shown to induce electroantennographic responses in male insects.
