It has been shown to have antipsychotic effects and is a ligand for the D4 receptor. 5-Chloro-2-ethoxyphenol binds to the D4 receptor with high affinity, but does not bind well to the D1 or D2 receptors. 5-Chloro-2-ethoxyphenol is a benzene compound with an aliphatic tail.
