5-Chloro-2-ethoxyphenol is a dopamine receptor agonist that binds to the D4 receptor subtype. It has been shown to have antipsychotic effects and is a ligand for the D4 receptor. 5-Chloro-2-ethoxyphenol binds to the D4 receptor with high affinity, but does not bind well to the D1 or D2 receptors. 5-Chloro-2-ethoxyphenol is a benzene compound with an aliphatic tail. This drug has medicinal chemistry properties in that it has been shown to be effective in treating Parkinson's disease, as well as other conditions such as schizophrenia, Tourette syndrome, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
