It is an oxime that binds to the voltage gated sodium channels in humans, preventing the transmission of pain signals. 1-(4-Fluorophenyl)-2-methyl-1-penten-3-one oxime has been shown to be effective in reducing pain in healthy volunteers and patients with chronic pain. This drug has been shown to have translational effects on human skin cells and has also been used for research purposes.
