Descripción:5-Methoxybenzoxazole is a heterocyclic compound that is used as an oxidant for the conversion of organic compounds. It has been shown to have a synergistic effect with zinc ions in the oxidation of organic compounds. 5-Methoxybenzoxazole is also used as a fluorescent probe and has been shown to be efficient in reducing yields in reactions that are not practical with other methods. The cytosolic location of this heterocycle was determined by irradiating cells with ultraviolet light, which caused fluorescence to appear only in the cytoplasm of cells. 5-Methoxybenzoxazole can be used as a fluorescent probe for biomolecular detection.
