GPRP acetate binds to the surface of platelets and initiates the process of fibrinogen polymerization and dextran sulfate cross-linking, which leads to the formation of a coagulation plug. Fibrinogen polymerization results in the development of a three-dimensional matrix that traps thrombin, leading to the conversion of fibrinogen into fibrin.
