SJG-136 is an ATP-binding cassette transporter inhibitor that has been shown to have potent antitumor activity. SJG-136 binds to the ATP-binding cassette transporter, which is involved in the transport of a variety of substrates across cellular membranes. This drug is being tested for its ability to bind to and inhibit the function of cancer cells. SJG-136 has also been shown to have pharmacokinetic properties, such as high solubility in human serum, and low clearance rate from the blood stream. It also has a slow metabolic clearance rate in rats, making it difficult for the body to eliminate it. SJG-136 may be used with other drugs that affect DNA polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or protein synthesis to treat solid tumors.
