Descripción:TMC353121 is a monoclonal antibody that has inhibitory properties against the syncytial virus. The drug has been shown to be active in vivo and in cell culture, inhibiting the replication of the virus. TMC353121 binds to the envelope protein of the virus, blocking its attachment to cells and preventing it from entering. This drug also inhibits viral entry into cells by binding to gp120, a surface protein on the virus. TMC353121 has been shown to be effective against chronic pulmonary syncytial virus infection in human serum and in cell cultures, as well as other infectious diseases such as HIV-1, West Nile Virus, SARS coronavirus, and influenza A H3N2.
