7-(3-Chloropropoxy)-4-chloroquinazoline is a multikinase inhibitor that binds to the ATP binding site of kinases and inhibits their activity. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of VEGFR-2, which is an important target for cancer drug discovery. 7-(3-Chloropropoxy)-4-chloroquinazoline is active in biochemical assays and has been profiled against a variety of kinases. The drug was envisaged to be able to bind to other targets, but docking studies have revealed that this may not be the case. Inhibitors of multikinases are being explored as potential drugs for cancer treatment due to their ability to inhibit a number of targets at once, reducing the risk of resistance developing.
