Descripción:IITZ-01 is a small molecule that induces autophagy by targeting the mitochondrial membrane potential and inhibiting the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. It has been shown to have anticancer activity against cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. IITZ-01 has been shown to be effective against breast, prostate, pancreatic, colon, liver and lung cancers. The treatment of IITZ-01 sensitizes carcinoma cells to chemotherapeutic agents such as cisplatin or doxorubicin. IITZ-01 also induces autophagosome formation, which may be due to its ability to stabilize mitochondria by preventing the dissipation of mitochondrial membrane potential.
