Scutebata C is a natural product that has been shown to be cytotoxic against colon cancer cells in vitro. The chemical structures of this compound have not been fully elucidated, although it has been shown to contain neoclerodane and other undescribed chemical structures. Scutebata C has also been found to inhibit the growth of colon cancer cells by causing DNA damage. Scutebata C also possesses anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to suppress prostaglandin synthesis.
