Descripción:1-(Quinolin-3-yl)ethanone is a synthetic quinazolinone that is used in the synthesis of other compounds. It is a sterically hindered compound that is mediated by hydrogen bonding, which allows it to act as an amine or nucleophile and react with carbonyl groups. 1-(Quinolin-3-yl)ethanone can also be methylated with formic acid to give a monohydric compound that can be reacted with an alkali metal to give a dihedral intermediate. This intermediate can then react with nitrogen nucleophiles to give products such as quinazolinones.
