This compound has been found to bind to the pyridine ring of guanine and inhibit the activity of RNA polymerase II, which is necessary for DNA replication and protein synthesis. 3-Nitroaniline hydrochloride has been shown to have cancer-promoting properties, as well as cytotoxic effects in lung cancer cell lines. 3-Nitroaniline Hydrochloride has also been shown to cause apoptosis in cancer cells by inhibiting amines at high temperatures.
