Cyclohexane-1,4-dicarbaldehyde is a high-molecular weight thermoplastic with a melting point of approximately 165°C. It is used in the manufacture of plastics and resins. Cyclohexane-1,4-dicarbaldehyde can be sourced from renewable resources such as hexafluoroisopropanol. This chemical has been shown to have excellent thermal stability at temperatures up to 300°C. Cyclohexane-1,4-dicarbaldehyde is chemically stable in a variety of solvents, including water and organic solvents such as ethanol and acetone. In addition to its use in the manufacture of plastics and resins, cyclohexane-1,4-dicarbaldehyde may also be used as an additive for magnetic materials or monomers for functional polymers.
