5-amino-3,4-dihydroquinolin-2(1H)-one is an antibacterial agent that belongs to the group of amide antifungals. It has been shown to have minimal inhibitory concentration values of less than or equal to 0.03 μg/mL against Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus flavus. This drug also has a fungicidal effect on Candida albicans and minimum inhibitory concentrations of less than or equal to 0.01 μg/mL against Penicillium chrysogenum, Fusarium oxysporum, Rhizopus nigricans, and Mucor pusillus. 5-Amino-3,4-dihydroquinolin-2(1H)-one has anti-inflammatory effects in vitro that may be due to its ability to inhibit chitin synthase activity.
