Descripción:Cis-10,11-dihydroxy-10,11-dihydrocarbamazepine is a drug that is used to treat epilepsy. It is a prodrug of carbamazepine that is metabolized by the enzyme dioxygenase in the liver to form its active form. Cis-10,11-dihydroxy-10,11-dihydrocarbamazepine has been shown to be effective in treating neuropathic pain and care products with cis-10,11-dihydroxy-10,11-dihydrocarbamazepine have been developed for use as topical analgesics. Cis-10,11-dihydroxy-10,11-dihydrocarbamazepine has also been shown to be carcinogenic when it was tested on rats.
