Org-10490 is a peptide that is an inhibitor of protein interactions. It is a cell-permeable small molecule, which acts as an agonist at the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor and blocks the ion channels in neurons, resulting in inhibition of neuronal activity. Org-10490 has been shown to be able to activate the Ligand for GABA(A) receptors, which are important for the transmission of nerve impulses. This peptide can also act as a research tool for investigating protein interactions and for examining ligand/receptor binding.
