Descripción:AC-93253 iodide is a drug that is being developed for the treatment of prostate cancer. The mechanism of action of AC-93253 iodide is still not known, but it has been shown to inhibit epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor proliferation in prostate cancer cells and suppress the proliferation of other cancerous cells. Clinical studies have demonstrated that this drug has anti-leukemic activity, and it was shown to be effective against a wide variety of cancers in vitro. AC-93253 iodide inhibits transcriptional regulation by binding to the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) transcriptase during DNA replication. This inhibition prevents the extension of DNA chains and halts DNA synthesis.
