4,4'Prime-Cis-stilbenedicarboxylic acid is a polycarbonate that is used in the synthesis of polyester resins. It is a colorless solid with the chemical formula of C12H8O2. This compound can be obtained by reacting terephthalic acid with ethylene and chloroform. 4,4'Prime-Cis-stilbenedicarboxylic acid has high thermal stability and processability because it does not melt under normal temperatures or decompose at elevated temperatures. This compound interacts with other compounds and has been shown to catalyze reactions yielding high reaction yields, such as in the production of polyesters from terephthalic acid and ethylene.
