Cabazitaxel-d6 is a cell permeable analog of cabazitaxel, which is a drug used to treat prostate cancer. Cabazitaxel-d6 has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the TRPC1 ion channel and can be used as a research tool for pharmacology and protein interactions. This compound also has been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines in macrophages. Cabazitaxel-d6 binds to the peptide sequence Arg-Leu-Arg-Ile-Lys in the TRPC1 receptor, which leads to inhibition of this ion channel. The binding causes an increase in intracellular calcium levels, which leads to apoptosis (cell death).
