It inhibits the ubiquitin proteasome system and the epidermal growth factor receptor, which are involved in protein degradation and cell proliferation. 1-tert-butyl 3-ethyl piperazine-1,3-dicarboxylate has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of inflammatory diseases and cancer. This compound has been used for the treatment of inflammation or cancer in clinical studies with magnesium salt as an adjuvant therapy.
