Información del producto
2-Mercapto-1H-indole-3-carboxaldehyde is a chiral molecule that can be synthesized in large quantities. It has been shown to be effective as an organocatalyst for the enantioselective synthesis of sulfones. The molecule also has a polycyclic structure and can be used to create benzothiophenes with different skeletons. 2-Mercapto-1H-indole-3-carboxaldehyde is obtained by the reaction of thiourea with a phenylacetonitrile, which is catalyzed by a chiral catalyst such as (-) camphor. The reaction produces an excess of one enantiomer of the product, which is then hydrolyzed to give 2-mercaptoindole carboxyaldehyde.
