Información del producto
IR-825 is a hydrophobic probe that has been shown to bind to tumor cells and cell nuclei in human serum. IR-825 has been shown to increase the tumor size when used as a diagnostic agent, which may be due to the release of acid from the acidic complex. It also has antitumor effects on mouse tumors, which may be due to its ability to cause DNA damage or by binding with the disulfide bond of tumor cells. IR-825 has been shown to have photothermal and acid complex activity in vitro, both of which are useful for tumor treatment. Photothermal therapy uses heat generated by a laser or other light source that can penetrate deep into tissue and cause cell death at high concentrations. Acid complex activity is due to the release of hydrogen ions from an acidic complex that causes membrane lysis. The particles themselves do not show significant anti-tumor activity in vitro, but their toxicity can be increased through the use of chemical prodrugs.
