Descripción:LX-2343 is a novel small molecule that induces autophagy. It has been shown to potently inhibit the growth of cancer cells in cell-based assays and to promote neuroprotective effects in rats with brain injury. LX-2343 can also reduce the levels of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in blood and decrease hCG production in the brain, which may be an effective therapy for treating tumors caused by hCG-producing cancers such as ovarian cancer. LX-2343 also inhibits the biosynthesis of hCG by blocking the activity of its two major enzymes, chorionic gonadotropin beta-subunit synthase and 3'5'-cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) kinase type I.
