TLRs are a family of proteins that act as pattern recognition receptors for the detection of microbial or viral components. SID 26681509 has been shown to inhibit HIV infection in primary cells and to induce autophagy, which may be due to its ability to inhibit methyl transferase activity. It also has been shown to reduce inflammation in mouse models of autoimmune diseases by inhibiting chemoattractant protein expression.
