Descripción:Pemetrexed EP Impurity A is a by-product of the synthesis of pemetrexed, which is a drug used to treat cancer. It has been shown to have cytotoxic activity against lung cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. Pemetrexed EP Impurity A inhibits glutamic acid decarboxylase, which is an enzyme that converts glutamate into gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). This inhibition leads to the accumulation of glutamate, leading to cell death. The compound has also been shown to inhibit malignant pleural mesothelioma cells in vitro and in vivo.
