It has been shown to activate the protein kinase C, which plays a role in the regulation of ion channels and other cellular functions. Phosphoramidon binds to the receptor site of protein A and inhibits the binding of phosphorylated erythropoietin (EPO) to its receptor. EPO is an important hormone for red blood cell production.
