EPZ031686 has been shown to induce autophagy in bladder cancer cells, and this may be due to its ability to inhibit growth factor signaling. EPZ031686 also reduces the expression of genes involved in epithelial-mesenchymal transition, which may have clinical relevance for the treatment of cancers such as bladder cancer.
