It is localized in the nucleus and binds to RNA polymerase II, which is involved in the transcription of mRNA from DNA. N-(4-Ethynylphenyl)-2-propenamide inhibits translation by binding to ribosomes, which results in decreased nucleobases and n6-methyladenosine levels. Furthermore, it influences cellular localization by binding to splicing factors and alters cellular events such as apoptosis and cell cycle progression.
