Descripción:7α-Hydroxysitosterol is a mitochondrial membrane potential regulator that belongs to the group of natural compounds. It is an ent-kaurane diterpenoid that is found in plants such as bearberry and solanum tuberosum. 7α-Hydroxysitosterol has been shown to have potent inhibitory effects on cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity in rats and radiation-induced cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis in mice, which may be due to its ability to increase the mitochondrial membrane potential and maintain cellular homeostasis. 7α-Hydroxysitosterol has also been shown to inhibit methyl transferase activity, which may lead to cancer prevention.
