Descripción:
17-ODYA is a chemical inhibitor that targets the cytochrome p450 enzyme. It binds to the heme group of cytochrome p450 and blocks the electron transfer from NADPH to arachidonic acid, leading to mitochondrial membrane potential collapse and cell death. 17-ODYA has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in vitro and in vivo by inducing apoptosis through oxidative stress, as well as inhibiting cancer cell growth in culture. In addition, 17-ODYA has been shown to be effective against congestive heart failure and myocardial infarction in rats. 17-ODYA also inhibits carcinoma cell lines in culture.
