Descripción:3-Hydroxydodecanedioic acid (3HDD) is an antibiotic-resistant compound. It has been shown to be effective against a number of antibiotic-resistant strains, including those resistant to tetracyclines or aminoglycosides. 3HDD has been shown to inhibit the production of carnitine in urine samples and to decrease fatty acid synthesis in the liver. In clinical studies 3HDD was found to have a profile similar to that of dodecanedioic acid and homologues. 3HDD inhibits the growth of bacteria by inhibiting fatty acid synthesis and metabolism, leading to cell death.
