It has been shown to have antifungal activity against T. mentagrophytes, with an IC50 value of 0.1 mM and a MIC value of 0.025 mM. The binding affinity of 1,4-bis(2-propynyloxy)benzene to thiophene was also investigated by FTIR spectroscopy, which showed that it is a kinetic non-binding binder.; ; 1,4-Bis(2-propynyloxy)benzene is synthesized from 2-(chloromethyl)-1,3-dioxolane and 1,3-butadiene in two steps via oxidative coupling followed by hydrolysis and methylation.
