Benzyldiisopropylamine is a monomer with a hydroxy group that is used in pharmaceutical preparations. It has been shown to have myeloid-derived suppressor activity, which suppresses the immune system and reduces inflammation. Benzyldiisopropylamine also blocks the production of fatty acids by inhibiting the enzyme lipase. This can lead to cardiac hypertrophy and heart disease. Benzyldiisopropylamine is also an inhibitor of sp600125, which is an anticancer agent that inhibits tumor growth by blocking protein synthesis. Benzyldiisopropylamine has been shown to be effective against depression in animal models.
