3-Thiocyanatopropyltriethoxysilane is a synthetic organic chemical that can be used as a cross-linking agent. The methoxy groups on the molecule react with the amine groups on proteins to form covalent bonds, which are stable under physiological conditions. 3-Thiocyanatopropyltriethoxysilane can be used for diagnostic purposes, for example in immunoassays.
