Descripción

Alizapride is a pharmaceutical preparation that is used for the treatment of infectious diseases and cancer. It is a prodrug that is converted in vivo to alizapridine, its active form. Alizapride has been shown to be effective in the treatment of emetogenic chemotherapy-induced vomiting and nausea. This drug also has minimal toxicity and low solubility in water, which makes it suitable for intravenous administration. Alizapride is broken down into metabolites that are excreted through the urine. The metabolite levels can be determined by a two-step liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method using urine samples as a matrix.
