Descripción:
Setastine hydrochloride is a 2-adrenergic receptor antagonist that has been shown to have antiinflammatory and analgesic activity. It binds to the alpha-2 receptor in the brain and inhibits the release of noradrenaline, thereby relieving inflammation and pain. Setastine hydrochloride blocks the activation of adenosine receptors and has been shown to depress neuronal activity. This drug is also an agonist at adrenergic receptors, which may account for its long-term efficacy.
