2-(2,2-Dimethoxyethanesulfonyl)-1,1-dimethoxyethane is a model compound that can be used to study the effects of ethylene on efficiency, thermal stability, and conductivity in sulfones. 2-(2,2-Dimethoxyethanesulfonyl)-1,1-dimethoxyethane has been shown to have oxidation resistance and rechargeable properties. It also has high solubility in solvents such as ionic liquids and sulfones. This compound is not symmetrical with respect to the methoxyl groups at either end of the molecule.
