Descripción

Combretastatin A1 is a natural product derived from the bark of the Combretum species. It has been shown to be effective against metastatic colorectal cancer cells and has been used in biological studies to evaluate the cytotoxicity of pyrazole derivatives. Combretastatin A1 is hydroxylated by cytochrome P450 enzymes, which converts it into a reactive form. This reactive form can then generate DNA adducts that lead to cell death. Combretastatin A1 also binds to the femoral vein, resulting in significant cytotoxicity in vivo.
