8-(3-Nitrophenyl)-6-(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)quinoline (8NPQ) is a cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase inhibitor that has been shown to have potent anti-cancer effects in wild-type mice. 8NPQ binds to the regulatory domain of cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase, which leads to inhibition of cAMP production and cell death. 8NPQ also inhibits cancer cell growth by blocking fatty acid synthesis and inducing apoptosis. In addition, 8NPQ is a potential drug target for the treatment of prostate cancer.
