DPC-681 is a molecule that has been shown to have inhibitory properties against viruses and cancer cells. The compound is chemically diverse, containing both nucleoside and non-nucleoside components. DPC-681 has been shown to be effective in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and ischemia reperfusion injury in animal models. It also has anticancer activity, inhibiting the proliferation of colon cancer cells. DPC-681 also has an active role in HIV infection; it inhibits viral replication by blocking the chemokine CXCL4/MIP1β pathway. This drug may be useful for patients with active antiretroviral therapy (ART).
