Taxus brevifolia, or Pacific yew, is a species of coniferous tree in the family Taxaceae. It is native to western North America from British Columbia south to California and east to Montana. It can grow to over 30 m tall with a trunk diameter of up to 2 m. The cones are erect, 5-12 cm long and 4-6 cm broad when open, and mostly in pairs or singly on the stem; each cone has 20-25 scales arranged in two whorls of 10-15 scales each.
