MEK inhibitor is a type of drug that inhibits the activity of the protein kinase MEK. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and significant cytotoxicity in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes. The MEK inhibitor also inhibited the production of inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-6 and IL-8, from these cells. The MEK inhibitor also has significant upregulation of proinflammatory genes, including toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), TLR2, and TLR9.
