Rac Metoprolol-d7 is a racemic mixture of metoprolol. Rac Metoprolol-d7 is an activator of beta 1 and beta 2 adrenergic receptors, which are coupled to the Gs protein. This activation results in increased levels of cAMP, which can lead to relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle and inhibition of heart rate. Rac Metoprolol-d7 has been shown to inhibit the activity of ion channels by binding to their ligand-binding site.
