2-Hydrazineyl-2-oxo-N-(3-(trifluoromethoxy)benzyl)acetamide is an inhibitor of the ion channels TRPM8 and TRPA1. It blocks the activation of these channels by cinnamaldehyde, a chemical that activates TRPA1 and TRPM8. This inhibition leads to the disruption of calcium fluxes in cells and prevents pain signals from being sent to the brain. 2HAT has been used as a research tool to study protein interactions and receptor binding in cell biology, as well as pharmacology.
