Descripción:MIM1 is a pro-apoptotic protein that can induce apoptosis in cancer cells. MIM1 is an assembly factor for the mitochondrial outer membrane protein, Mcl-1. The wild-type strain of MIM1 has been shown to inhibit cancer cells and induce apoptosis in mice with skin cancer by regulating the mitochondrial membrane potential and receptor activity. In addition, MIM1 has been found to be upregulated in human malignant brain tumours and solid tumours. It is possible that this protein may be an effective therapeutic target for anticancer treatments.
