Ethyl 4-(4-chloro-2-methylphenoxy)butyrate is a synthetic butyric acid derivative that has been used as an agriculturally effective fungicide. It inhibits the growth of organisms by binding to fatty acids and inhibiting their metabolism, which reduces the availability of energy. This product is effective in controlling fungi and bacteria at low concentrations. The optimum concentration for this product is 0.5 ppm, and it should be applied to the plants at least twice a week to prevent reoccurrence of infestation.
