• Descripción: PCB No. 30 is a congener of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). PCBs are a family of chemical compounds that are manufactured by the chlorination of biphenyl. PCB No. 30 is used as an intermediate in the production of other PCBs, such as PCB No. 31 and PCB No. 101. The structure of PCB No. 30 has been evaluated using molecular descriptors and molecular modeling to determine its receptor binding affinity for human liver tissue, which is the site where it accumulates in humans and animals. This compound also exhibits some toxicity to primary cultures of human liver cells, but not to strains of bacteria grown in culture media containing butanol or isomers of solutes like glucose or sucrose as carbon sources.
