Descripción

Dianemycin is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the membrane system of bacteria and inhibits their growth. This antibiotic has a broad spectrum of activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including strains resistant to other antibiotics such as penicillin, erythromycin, tetracycline, and chloramphenicol. Dianemycin has been shown to inhibit the uptake of hydrogen ions by actin filaments in eukaryotic cells. The combination preparations with nigericin or anhydrous sodium monosulfate have been found to be toxic for various cells in vitro.
